Spanish Tapas at Tapas Revolution, Bath

Located in the heart of Southgate, Tapas Revolution is one of Bath's many tapas joints.

What we ordered

  • Pan mallorquín (grilled bread with chorizo spread, gratin with manchego cheese and honey)
  • Patatas bravas (roasted potatoes with spicy tomato sauce and alioli)
  • Tortilla de patatas (omelette with eggs, potato and onion)
  • Pimientos de Padrón (fried sweet green peppers)
  • Berenjenas fritas (crispy fried aubergine with spiced honey and thyme dressing)
  • Jamón Ibérico de bellota Montenevado (Iberian ham)
  • Pan alioli (bread with alioli, a garlicy mayo sauce)
  • Campo Nuevo Viura Chardonnay

Our thoughts

As there were two of us, we decided to order an array of dishes to share coupled with some Spanish wine. Everything was yummy, in particular the patatas bravas, tortilla de patatas and the pan alioli. The alioli was particularly delicious - thankfully, a lot of their dishes come with this and we finished it all (no shame).

For meat lovers, the jamón ibérico is great. The crispy fried aubergine was good but the dressing was quite heavy and the fried sweet green peppers were good but had an acquired taste (this is how they're supposed to taste though).

All in all, we had a wonderful time at Tapas Revolution, trying out hteir tapas and sipping our wine outside in the sunshine (they have outdoor seating, perfect for summer).

They also have beautiful interiors, with a new bespoke hand-made mural which took over six months to make 😱.

If you're looking for somewhere to have lunch, why not order two tapas dishes from their lunch menu along with bread & alioli for only £9.95?
