Burgers at MeatBusters Burger Bar, Bath

Located on Lower Bristol Road in a super cosy joint, MeatBusters Burger Bar (formerly known as Burgers and Barrells) makes great burgers cooked fresh to order, made using locally sourced ingredients.

What we ordered
  • What-a-Jerk Chicken burger (whole grilled chicken breast slathered with oregano, lemon juice, topped with chopped mushroom, cheddar and garlic mayo)
  • Phat Patty's Veggie (portobello mushrooms stuffed with mozzarella cheese and sun-dried tomatoes, finished in the oven topped with a balsamic reduction)
  • Sweet potato fries
  • Blue lagoon fries (fries topped with melted blue cheese and sliced mushrooms)

Our thoughts

The first burger, the chicken one was well-cooked and the mushrooms and garlic mayo were amazing. It was very filling, as was the vegetarian one with the incredible sundried tomatoes. Originality is the buzzword at MeatBusters and none of the items tasted like your "standard" burger joint.

The sweet potato fries were absolutely incredible and the MeatBusters originality was not simply contained to their burgers - the blue lagoon fries were like something we had never seen. Fries with a layer of melted blue cheese and slices of cooked mushrooms - amazing.

If you like burgers, look no further. MeatBusters has over 10 different varieties to try with all kinds of different toppings (yum) - and it's all locally sourced produce. The location itself is very cosy and has kind of an old, western vibe about it.

If you're feeling brave, why not try their hulk challenge? You simply have to eat a 2kg burger in 30 minutes or less. If you complete the challenge, the burger is on the house however, the price of failure is £30. Apparently, only 4 people have been successful in the last few years (and over 70 have tried). Up to the challenge? Find all the details here.

Thanks MeatBusters - we had a great time, although we won't be trying the Hulk Challenge any time soon 😉.
