Lunch at Nourish Plantbased Eating, Bath

Last year the popular restaurant The Beaufort on London Road rebranded itself by serving a 100% plant-based cuisine  🌱

The food at Nourish is international with influences from all over the World and they locally source all seasonal vegetables, striving to support local suppliers and businesses.

What we ordered
  • BBQ jackfruit taco (with pico de Gallo, guacamole, coconut yoghurt & coriander dip)
  • Black bean taco (with coconut yoghurt & avocado)
  • Coconut crumb tofu taco (with pineapple & mango salsa, avocado & pickled onion)
  • Thai Laksa with Coconut Tofu (with mixed peppers, courgetti & cashews)
  • Buddha Bowl (toasted sweet potato, carrot, quinoa, pomegranate, broccoli, pea shoots & turmeric tahini sauce)
  • Booja booja ice cream (chocolace, hazelnut, raspberry ripple and vanilla)
  • Turmeric and ginger kombucha from the Bath culture house

Our thoughts

We were super excited to try Nourish and were so pleasantly surprised by everything. Although it's 100% plant based, Nourish doesn't skimp on flavour nor does it use any nasty processed soya.

Starting with the trio of tacos, they were absolutely incredible. The BBQ jackfruit almost looks/tastes like pulled pork - so strange but really good. Our favourite was the coconut tofu one but, to be honest,  they were all great.

The kombucha, a fermented tea drink, was handmade in Bath by a local company and very very nice - Bath Culture house, check them out.

The main courses were also great. Full of flavour, healthy and super generous portions. The laksa was really creamy (without having used cream, obviously) and the buddha bowl had so much goodness packed into it. Bland is definitely not a word that you could use to describe these dishes, despite many people thinking that any meatless dish lacks flavour 😉

To finish, we tried a couple of the booja booja ice cream flavours. These were incredible and it's hard to believe that they're vegan. Unfortunately Nourish doesn't serve these anymore, but you can buy them at a couple of different supermarkets. They do, however, have lots of different yummy looking desserts on their menu including a cheese board with locally made artisan vegan cheese.

In a nutshell, Nourish is definitely one of the best vegan restaurants in Bath. It isn't expensive and has so many different, interesting and inventive dishes on offer. It's in Larkhall so just take a short walk down London Road to find it ✌🏼
