Salt Cave Café, Bath's Newest Cafe

When we posted photos of Salt Cave Café on our instagram feed last week (link here 👈🏼), it got so much hype! We have had countless messages from you guys saying that you went and loved it.

Salt Cave Café is Bath's newest cafe, and is very different to anything our little city has seen before. The room is completely made out of salt, and it actually used to be a spa. The salts are supposed to draw the toxins out of your body, and the whole cosy vibe of the cafe has a really relaxing effect on you. Great for that exam season that's looming 🤯.

Last week we were invited down to check out the new cafe to see what kinds of treats they had on offer, as well as to check out the unique salt room.

We ordered a flapjack, latte and an orange juice, and sat in the room absorbing all of the good vibes ✨.

Salt therapy (halotherapy) has actually been around for many many years, and it's becoming increasingly popular in spas and health centres around the world. There is a long list of halotherapy benefits, including antibacterial properties.

The negatively charged ions in salt improve both our health and our mood, and inhaling the saltiness (🤷🏼‍♀️) can reduce inflammation in the lungs, which means that you can breathe easier. Not to mention, it's also calming and detoxifying. Reduced stress, headaches, increased energy, better sleep patterns etc. etc.

The list goes on. Does it really work? Who knows. However, halotherapy is normally quite expensive, whereas at this cafe you can actually rent the room for £10 (!?) an hour! That's really reasonable. When you rent the room, they turn up the heat to intensify the health benefits and give you some calming teas.

The food and drinks itself were lovely. For now, they only have hot drinks & sweet treats, but they're going to start doing hot tortilla wraps and salad soon, so it'll be a great place for lunch.

Overall, a fab little place and something new and different to the Bath cafe scene. We would highly recommend going! Thanks Salt Cave Café for inviting us.
