Dinner at Mother & Wild, Corsham

After driving 25 minutes out of Bath and into the countryside, we arrived at the picturesque Corsham, an idyllic town just outside of the Cotswolds. Situated right on the high street is Mother & Wild, a quaint restaurant, cafe and bar, which was packed considering that it was a Tuesday evening.

Mother & Wild focuses on wood-fired sourdough pizza and sharing plates, creating the perfect atmosphere for friends, family and loved ones to catch up over a variety of delicious food in a non-pretentious environment. We couldn't wait to get stuck in!

We opted to go for a variety of dishes so that we could share them all and experience the best that Mother & Wild has to offer.

Courgette, spinach, avocado, feta and mint salad with added chicken 🥑🌿. [£11]

This was probably one of the best salads we've had in a restaurant. It was full of fresh ingredients, and it felt super satisfying. The chicken was grilled to perfection, but to be honest it was such a yummy salad that you could've had it without the chicken and it would have been equally as delicious. It had a fresh and fragrant mint and lemon dressing which worked so nicely with the softer flavours such as the courgette and avocado. The feta added a nice tangy, savoury flavour to the whole dish. It was a very good portion size and well-priced.

Chorizo, chilli, tomato and mozzarella pizza 🍕🌶. [£11]

The pizza was authentic, delicious and came with a great quantity of toppings. The dough was light and thin, and the chorizo and chilli provided just the right amount of kick. The onions on top of it were lovely and added lots of flavour to the overall dish. They have a couple of different pizzas, twists on the original classics, which all looked great. If they're anything like this one, we would highly recommend them.

Parmesan polenta chips 🧀. [£4.50]

These were recommended to us by the waitress as a must-try. For those of you that have never tried polenta, it's an Italian ingredient which uses boiled cornmeal - it doesn't sound very appetising, but it's a great alternative to potatoes and the topped parmesan adds an extra dimension to the side. But to be honest, we love parmesan on almost anything.

Gem lettuce and avocado salad 🥑. [£5]

A very tasty side salad that we would recommend to those who want a fresh, green addition to their meal. This also had a great amount of freshly grated parmesan 🤤.

To finish, we opted to share the chocolate cheesecake pot with salted caramel ice cream and honeycomb 🍯. [£6]

This was creamy, sweetened well and delicious. The perfect ending to a savoury dinner. The cheesecake was really smooth, and the salted caramel ice cream had just the right balance between sweet and salty. Honeycomb is always a welcome addition to any dessert.

🌟 The decor is very Cotswolds-esque with the Cotswolds stone, but it has a modern touch and a relaxed feel to the place. It's made to suit everyone from couples to young families and dogs. There's also a lovely outside area perfect for summer.

🌿 The menu has something for everyone. There is a kids menu, and gluten-free & vegan options are readily available.

🤵🏻 The service was great with friendly, efficient staff who were more than happy to recommend dishes.

💰 ££. Great value for money.
