Drinks at The Common Room, Bath

Tucked away behind the Assembly Rooms and the Fashion Museum, you will find The Common Room, a fun and quirky cocktail bar with an exotic interior.

Spoiler alert: after going, we've decided that it's one of Bath's best bars.

We decided to first go for some of their signature drinks which were mostly rum-based. We love rum so this was perfect for us!

The Caribbean Clout (right) is made from Mount Gay rum, Wray and Newphew rum, Courvoisier, apricot brandy, lemon, pink grapefruit and tiki bitters 🗿. [£9.50]

Served in a funky tiki glass and decorated with a little umbrella, this delicious (but strong) drink is perfect for all of the tropical drink lovers out there.

The Profumo (left) is made from Passoa (a passion fruit liqueur), Havana 3yr rum, aperol, prosecco and soda water, decorated with some citrus peel 🍹. [£9]

This twist on a traditional aperol spritz (aperol, prosecco and soda water) had a very citrus, orange-based flavour that we really enjoyed. It was very refreshing but still strong - it's nice to see a bar that isn't stingy on their alcohol!

We then decided to go for some of their non-signature cocktails, including a classic, the mojito.

The mojito (left) was a mix of mint-infused rum, lime, sugar and soda water 🌿. [£8]

We really liked this cocktail and the infused rum made it a refreshing, flavourful drink. They make the mint-infused rum in-house in an ultrasonic sound bath (sounds fancy right?) to keep the freshness and taste of the mint which is fantastic!

The Italian 75 (right) is a mix of Bath gin, lemon, sugar and prosecco 🍋. [£9]

This is an elegant drink, suitable for only the hardcore lemon lovers out there as it's quite sour.

🌟 The Common Room is a fun and quirky cocktail bar with an exotic interior. The bar is quite small, but really cosy and has an eclectic tropical vibe - it's very unique and such a lovely addition to the Bath drinks scene. There's even a mini dancefloor at the back, perfect to dance away your troubles 💃🏼.

🤵🏻 The staff at The Common Room were extremely friendly and welcoming. Dave, our bartender, was fantastic! We remember mixing some drinks with him back when he worked at Be at One a few years ago.

💰 £-££. The bar has a great "Cocktail Countdown" offer where you can get a cocktail for £5 at 5pm, £6 at 6pm etc. which is great if you want to go for an after-work or pre-dinner drink.
