Lunch at 8e Chelsea Road, Lower Weston, Bath

8e Chelsea Road has been running for a while in various forms. They originally served a whole menu and then stripped this back to focus on cheeses, charcuterie, salads and sandwiches while they focused on coffee, craft beer, wine and live music.

However, they recently found an incredible chef! So, the local favourite is now serving a daily changing menu featuring high-quality, simple and delicious ingredients. We were super excited to try it out so hopped on the bus from central Bath and around 10 minutes later were sat in the cosy café/restaurant.

We started off by sharing the Westcombe ricotta, vanilla baked pear, walnut and honey on sourdough 🍐 [£6]

You could definitely taste the vanilla aroma in the pear and the ricotta/pear combination worked perfectly. The sourdough was very good and had a crispy crust.

Sandridge bacon brioche sandwich with house ketchup 🥓 [£5.50]

The bacon was delicious. Tender in the middle and crispy on the edges. The homemade ketchup was very tasty and much appreciated, and the brioche bun was nice - perfectly toasted and slightly sweet.

MacMuffin - Wiltshire haslet, Westcombe cheddar and fried egg on brioche 🍳 [£8]

This was also very yummy. The egg was perfectly fried and the biroche bun was nice and soft. We weren't as fond of the haslet, however, as we don't really like meatloaf in general. That being said, someone who does like this kind of meat would love this.

We also ordered a couple of coffees which were delicious and really hit the spot. They also offer lots of dairy-free milks, including oat milk.

🌟 8e Chelsea Road has a very cosy atmosphere with chilled music playing in the background. There's also an outdoor seating area perfect for warmer days.

🤵🏻 Staff were super friendly and the dishes came out quickly.

🌿 The menu changes daily and while they have gluten-free and vegan options from time to time, there were none when we went.
