Brunch at The Provenist at Neptune Home, Bath

Everyone knows that Neptune Home is one of the most beautiful home shops in Bath (and the UK - a dream of ours is to have one of their kitchens one day)! What you may not know, is that in their Bath store is also home to The Provenist, a cafe focusing on breakfast and lunch. By supporting independent British producers, their menu is wholesome, nutritious and seasonal.

Smoked salmon and scrambled egg croissant πŸ₯ [£9]⁣

This was excellent! The eggs and croissant worked together perfectly and every element of the dish was really fresh and delicious. We particularly enjoyed the scrambled eggs which had the perfect texture and consistency. Our favourite!

Smashed avocado on sourdough toast πŸ₯‘ [£7.70] ⁣

The mix of avocado, garlic and lemon was perfectly balanced and really delicious. By adding the garlic, it became a little different to the classic avocado toast. You can choose form different types of bread so we went for the classic sourdough - it was nice and crispy on the sides and soft on the inside, just like we like it!

Buckwheat and cinnamon pancakes served with a berry and ginger compote πŸ₯ž [£7.50]⁣

Really good! We loved the strong cinnamon taste in these gluten-free pancakes. You really couldn’t even tell that these were gluten-free and the compote was nicely balanced with the tartness yet sweetness of the berries and the zingy ginger.

You could choose from a couple of different toppings - banana, maple & almond butter, yoghurt with fresh fruit & honey or seasonal fruit compote.

Banana, berry, maple syrup and almond milk smoothie 🍌 [£4]⁣

We didn’t enjoy the smoothie as much as the rest as it was quite thick and had a strong banana flavour which somewhat masked the berry flavour.
Latte with oat milk ☕ [£3.10] ⁣

This was a really good coffee; a strong taste that wasn’t too bitter. We loved the range of plant-based milks available.

🌟 The restaurant is super pretty, very luminous and has a couple of comfy armchairs if you want to come grab an afternoon coffee. Their brunch menu is really good, not to mention the gorgeous interiors that Neptune sells - the perfect place to have a post-food browse. Lots of veggie, vegan and gf options.⁣
🀡🏻 Friendly, quick & attentive service. ⁣
