Shop Local: Larkhall Butchers, Bath

Open since 1969, Larkhall Butchers is a multi-award-winning shop in the heart of Larkhall, just around a 25-minute walk from Pulteney Bridge in Bath. It has a beautiful selection of high-quality meat, fish and more, sourced directly from local farms near Bath.⁣
The butchers believe in quality over quantity when it comes to their meat and you can really tell in their products. With Christmas approaching, we were kindly given some items to cook up at home.⁣

🍗 Chorizo-stuffed free-range chicken - This was super easy to pop into the oven and once ready was succulent and delicious. The chorizo gave a lovely flavour to the chicken without it being overpowering and wasn’t too salty.⁣
🥓 Pigs in blankets (gluten-free sausages wrapped in dry-cured bacon from Sandridge Farm) - these were absolutely beautiful and you can really taste the difference in the quality of meat. It wasn’t too salty or rich as sausage meat can often be, and being gluten-free meant that our gluten-free friends could enjoy them too!⁣

The butchers do their best to remain as environmentally friendly as they can be by using electric vans and paper packaging. We know that eating meat isn’t the best for the environment, but if you are going to eat it, it’s worth making it high-quality and as ‘ethical’ as possible by buying from butchers who source from free-range high-welfare farms.⁣

We would HIGHLY recommend checking out Larkhall Butchers. The staff are very friendly and helpful and it’s a great way to try different types of high-quality meats while supporting our local businesses. We couldn't recommend it any more. ✨
