Vegan Breakfast at Cascara, Bath

Cascara is a cosy, small vegan cafe and coffee shop serving a range of breakfasts and lunches as well as some sharing plates (see the menu below 😋). Owned by the lovely Sus, it's yet another sweet independent cafe in Bath that's worth a visit.

We had the daily changing porridge which happened to be pear & ginger topped with banana and seeds 🍐 [£6.75]

The porridge was comforting and the ginger added a nice kick to the dish while the seeds added a nice crunch. We chose to add peanut butter for £1 which worked really well with the fresh banana.

We also went for the sourdough toast with peanut butter, coconut yoghurt, banana, seeds, cacao nibs and agave 🍞 [£7]

This was like eating dessert for breakfast without being overly sweet. It was sweet, creamy and crunchy all at the same time. We really liked it!

To drink, we had a couple of oat milk flat whites ☕️. It was nice coffee and Cascara has a range of plant-based milks to choose from (soya, oat, almond & coconut). [£2.85] ⁣

The dishes at Cascara are simpler, but more innovative. Just look at the chickpea melt toastie for example! The dips also sound super interesting, especially if you're meeting a friend and want to nibble on something while chatting. At 3 for £9, it seems like quite good value.

Cascara is probably most well-known for their smoothies and cakes, all of which are plant-based. We didn't try either this time, but we've had them before and they're very good! The range of cakes always look really delicious.

🌟 The interiors are really sweet with lots of plants a seating area upstairs full of cushions for cosy chats with friends. Everything is vegan and there are lots of gluten-free options. ⁣

🤵🏻 Friendly, fast service.⁣ It's *so* important to support independents when you can, especially in Bath!
