Afternoon Tea with Twining's at Bailbrook House Hotel

We were recently kindly invited to an afternoon tea event at Bailbrook House Hotel in Bath (London Road) with Twinings tea!

The lovely Lucy Chappell, Twinings’ tea expert, talked us through all the different teas and gave us a couple of fun facts - did you know that the UK gets through 165 million cups of tea a day?! ðŸĪŠ

Much like wine, certain teas complement certain foods. With this in mind, we started on the first course the earl grey tea which was complemented by smoked salmon and cream cheese sandwiches. The earl grey had a delicate taste to it and, served without milk, it was much more refreshing than your usual earl grey blend.

Many sandwiches later, we had fruit scones which were still warm, fluffy and light. They were topped with clotted cream and jam (of course 🍓) and were accompanied by their Elderflower & Blossom Darjeeling tea. This was our favourite! It was light, fruity and had a refreshing taste to it that cleansed the palette.

The afternoon tea was topped off with a few mini cakes, including a Thyme panna cotta which was light and very fragrant, a lemon meringue pie and spiced carrot cake decorated with edible flowers which was our favourite. 🧁

The hotel is a lovely setting for a lunch or tea for two - and we would highly recommend checking it out!

The afternoon tea was lovely and we even had a chance to have a peek into the rooms which are stunning. We can't wait to come back to Bailbrook House Hotel to do a review of the hotel rooms themselves - after seeing how beautiful they are, we have high hopes for our stay!
