Dinner at Bill's, Bath

Bill's have a new menu and we were kindly invited down to try it out!

We started with a glass of their house prosecco 🥂  [£6.50 for 125ml]

We enjoyed this on arrival. Crisp and chilled.
Crumbled halloumi sticks with lime aioli 🧀  [£5.95]

These were a good, chunky size and had a nice texture to them. They weren’t squeaky (we’ve all been there) or too salty. The aioli was yummy but we couldn’t really taste the lime.

For mains we decided to both go for burgers...

Halloumi burger with chargrilled red peppers, hummus, red onion, sweet chilli sauce & pea shoots on a sesame seed bun served with garlic & lemon aioli and rosemary salted fries 🍔 [£10.95]

This had a lovely mix of saltiness from the halloumi and sweetness from the sweet chilli sauce. The burger wasn’t too heavy and felt like a ‘healthier’ option for a burger, especially with all the yummy veggie components. The bun was a little dry although it was light & had a nice texture to it.

Buttermilk chicken burger - crumbled chicken breast, creamy coleslaw, chipotle mayonnaise, tomato, sesame bun & rosemary salted fries 🍔 [£12.50, £14.45 with the avocado]

This had a very good portion of tender, moist and slightly breaded buttermilk chicken which added a nice crunchy texture to it. We added some avocado as extra which was nice and creamy.
The fries for both were skinny, with a nice crunch on the outside and soft insides. They were a good portion and had a hint of rosemary.

For a chain restaurant, there’s a good selection on the menu for everyone - meat-eaters, veggie and vegan. There are both healthier and more indulgent options too, making it great for a group setting. We thought that it had a good price-quality ratio too.

The service was quick and friendly, although we would recommend booking as it was very busy even on Wednesday lunchtime. Our temperature taken on arrival & there was hand sanitiser on the tables, but they were still quite close together.

Bills are currently doing #EatOutToHelpOut and have a special set menu where (with the scheme) you end up paying £7.75 for 2 courses and £9.95 for 3 (plus a free glass of wine!) Both the halloumi sticks & halloumi burger are on the menu.
