Breakfast at NOOK, Frome

We love NOOK so much. It’s a great healthy cafe in Frome (around 30 mins from Bath - map below) which does amazing smoothie bowls, juices, buddha bowls, poke bowls etc! The staff are always super friendly and although we've had their poke bowls a couple of times, we hadn't tried their breakfast.

They do a couple of smoothie bowls using high-quality fruit that they freeze on-site with organic alternative milks and their homemade house granola.

With four to choose from, we decided to put our love for the classic acai bowl to one side to try something else. We love how all of their bowls have one 'superfood' in them and the menu explains what it is.

Cacao açai bowl (acai, cacao powder, sea salt & almond milk topped with berries, banana, cacao nibs & house granola) 🍫 [£7]

Cold, chocolatey and sweet, this felt filling and nourishing. It had a good amount of granola and banana which we liked a lot! Here the superfood was cacao: high in antioxidants & iron and mood-boosting.

Endless summer smoothie bowl (mango, pineapple, banana, baobab & coconut milk topped with seasonal fruit & house granola) 🥭 [£7]

This was super refreshing and had just the right amount of sweetness. The granola added a lovely crunch and the blueberries were super fresh. The granola was lovely and plentiful. Here the superfood was baobab: high in antioxidants and fibre, aiding digestion.

Raspberry brownie (cacao, ground almonds, black beans, flaxseed, coconut sugar & sea salt) 🍫 [£2.50]

Very indulgent & fudge-like in texture! It was chocolatey and gooey but not too sweet and you would have never been able to tell that there were black beans in it.

Strawberry boost juice (strawberry, mint, apple & lemon) 🍓 [£3.50 for 250ml]

Sweet, fresh, and very refreshing. We loved the addition of mint and the tart/sweet balance was just right. Once again, the menu listed all of the different nutritional benefits of the juice.

Strawberry is high in nutrients, fibre and an excellent source of vitamin C. Mint is an antioxidant, high in nutrients, improves brain function & digestion. Apple is good for heart health and lowers diabetes (due to its polyphenol antioxidant content). Finally, lemon reduces your risk of heart disease, anemia, kidney stones, digestive issues, and cancer.

Oat milk cappuccino ☕ [£3]

A great coffee!

Overall, we loved this breakfast. So healthy and nutritious without compromising on flavour at all. We just wish that it were in Bath!
