Takeaway Italian from Dr. Al Forno, Bath

Let’s be honest, it’s been a tough year! While the future is still fairly uncertain and things continue to feel a bit miserable, there is one thing that is sure to improve your mood in the meantime – Italian food!

One positive of recent months has been the adaptability and resourcefulness that we’ve witnessed across local businesses. From changing physical set-ups and figuring out the logistics, to changing approaches entirely and focusing on new things, there has been a lot of creativeness about and we are here for it!

One new lockdown innovation is Dr Al Forno, a Bath takeaway providing Italian street food and specialising in Al Forno dishes. Their authentic and traditional food can be ordered through Uber Eats and Deliveroo or collected from Widcombe.

Lunch at JUNO, Bath

JUNO is a super chilled and unique spot in Bath, filled with lots of pool tables, TVs with sporting events, skateboards on the walls and more. In terms of food, they serve a range of pizzas, burgers, sandwiches and sides along with a super extensive drinks menu. As an independent, all of the pizza dough is made fresh in house every day and the meat is sourced from local butchers.

Raphael has recently changed with a new Head Chef, food menu & over 65 hand-picked wines to choose from (with great prices). As it was a Sunday, we had to go for some of their new roasts which looked divine.

A business created during lockdown, The Happy Donut Co. is an independent, Bath-based donut company making handcrafted vegan donuts. If you're not vegan - don't let that put you off! These are absolutely delicious and are for everyone!

Dinner at The Hare & Hounds

The Hare & Hounds is a great pub in Bath which has stunning views down into the valley. As one of our favourite pubs, they have pub classics as well as some dishes with an international twist. For one of our previous reviews, click here (which has more pictures of the venue itself).

Unlike our last visit which was a warm summers evening, this was very rainy haha - the joys of living in the UK! We decided to start with some wine and nibbles...
