Breakfast at Cortado, Bath

Cortado is a lovely British-Argentinian independent cafe which serves breakfast and lunch classics, some of which have an Argentinian twist. They also have delicious Argentinian sweet treats and empanadas which we have tried before! After updating their breakfast & brunch menu, we were kindly invited down to try it out.

It was very early so we went for a cortado [£2.50] which was a delicious shorter, less milky coffee and an oat milk flat white [£2.50] which was yummy. Oat milk never disappoints!

Avocado toast with eggs, chilli flakes & lime juice (v) 🥑 [£6.90]

You can choose to have your locally sourced eggs however you want and we went for poached, which were perfectly oozy. We loved the South American hint that the lime juice provided and the portion was generous given the price!

Homemade granola with greek yoghurt, bananas, strawberries & honey (v) 🍓 [£5.30]

This was the perfect blend of crunch and fresh fruit. It was honestly one of the best granolas that we have ever had. We loved it! A great, lighter option.

Banana bread with peanut butter, bananas and strawberries (ve) 🍌 [£4.90]

Delicious! Incredibly moist and flavourful.

Alfajor (v) [£2.40]

We had to try one of these. This is a delicious Argentinian treat consisted of shortbread-like biscuits & dulce de leche, coated in cocoa shavings. It was delightful and we'd highly recommend it to sweet treat lovers.

The place itself is quite small, with a couple of tables inside and some outside. They have a few vegan & plant-based options so there’s something for everyone. Overall, it's a very sweet cafe with lovely owners and yummy food.

You should definitely also try some of their empanadas. They're delicious and great for either lunch or an afternoon snack. They have lots of different flavours!
