Cheese & Charcuterie at The Bath Bun, Bath

Although famous for their Bath buns (not to be confused with the Sally Lunn bun) and afternoon teas, The Bath Bun recently added a charcuterie platter to their menu! We chose a seat in the lovely Abbey Green square and ordered a cup of chai tea before taking a look at the menu.

Chai tea (black tea, ginger root aroma, cinnamon, red pepper & cloves) ☕️ [£2.50 per pot]

This had a really nice soft taste and is apparently very popular.

Charcuterie platter (a selection of cured fine meats and accompanying cheeses) 🧀 [£12 for one, £20 to share]

Served with bread, onion chutney, olives, grapes and a salad with sun dried tomatoes, all of the elements paired nicely together. There was a nice selection of meats & significant chunks of blue, cheddar and a soft cheese.

The onion chutney was exceptionably delicious which contrasted with the strong cheese very well. This was a platter for one (you can also get a sharing one), and it was plentiful.

Pinot Grigio 🍷 [£5 for 187ml]

The wine list didn’t have specific vineyard names, just the type of wine. This one went well with the charcuterie board and it was nice to enjoy a glass of wine in the afternoon sunshine.

It's a great little spot to watch the world go by. The first picture in this post was taken a while ago, and since reopening they have added many more tables and chairs (please see below). The Bath Bun also has breakfast, lunch (baguettes, panini, salads, soups etc.) and cake options.
