Dinner at the Indian Pizza Company, Bath

Indian Pizza Company started back in lockdown as a unique new takeaway spot. They've recently opened their restaurant which is has a lovely, casual vibe and vibrant colours.

The main star of the show are their pizzas, which are like an Indian x Italian fusion. The pizza bases are stone baked & hand-stretched Neapolitan style, and are topped with mozzarella, however the flavours are definitely Indian which makes them deliciously unique to the Bath food scene.

After ordering some drinks, we were given a complimentary chickpea snack. It was flavourful, well spiced, light, crispy & the ideal thing to nibble on while deciding what to order.

To drink, we both went for their Limca cocktail (lime, lemon, gin, soda, gomme syrup, mint). This is their house special which we both went for. It was so refreshing and delicious. It wasn’t too sweet or sour and was overall just really well-balanced! [£8 each]

To start, we decided to go for the Punjabi veggie pakoras & onion bhaji poppers served with IPC BBQ Tandoor dip (v) ✨ [£6.50]

So many customers were ordering these so we just had to go for them. They were crispy on the outside but moist and fluffy on the inside, and came with a delicious dip.

New Delhi Feast (tomato masala base, pepperoni, tandoori chicken, IPC Kashmir spiced Indian sausage, charred bhavnagri peppers, garlic ghee, mozzarella & green chilli) 🍕 [£14.95]

This was more like a traditional pizza aside from the base, almost like an Indian take on a meatlovers pizza. We also really liked their use of ghee rather than olive oil, a perfect nod to Indian cuisine.

Chennai Warrior (24 hour slow roasted shin of pulled beef marinated in madras spices, tomato masala base, coriander pesto, hot & sour pickled onions, garlic ghee, mozzarella & green chilli) 🍕 [£13.50]

This had more ‘curry’ flavours than the New Delhi Feast and was absolutely packed with flavour. The coriander pesto added a lemony freshness which definitely brightened the pizza and the pickled onions added a nice acidity. This was both of our favourites.

We really enjoyed our trip to The Indian Pizza Company and are so happy that they have an eat-in place now, after starting as just takeaway during lockdown.

Their takeaway business is still going strong, and they’re very flexible with orders e.g. if you don’t want cheese, or want to make some of the meat pizzas meatless. They also have gluten-free bases and you can opt to have no chillies on your pizza if you can’t handle the spice. 🌶

IPC also does monthly specials and has a loyalty card for their customers to claim free pizzas, and in summer they’re going to start a brunch/lunch menu. They’re currently only open on Thursday, Friday & Saturday evenings 5-9pm. We would highly recommend that you go - it’s a great, unique spot for your weekend!
