Dinner at Giraffe, Bath

Giraffe have a new menu from a range of different cuisines! They’re still very family-friendly (they have a great kids menu), but they also now have £5 cocktails & a bottomless brunch too. We were kindly invited to try out their new menu.

We got seated and decided to order some of their all day every day £5 cocktails. We went for their 'Spiced Punch' which was Havana spiced rum, pineapple juice, guava juice, orange juice & lime. It was fruity, refreshing & far too easy to drink! We also went for the 'Smokey Cuban' which was Havana 7 year rum, triple sec & ginger ale. The ginger gave the cocktail a lovely punch & warmth.

We decided to go for a mix of their smaller plates to start.

Halloumi fries (v) πŸ§€ [£5]

The halloumi had a delicious salty, meaty texture & was topped with a cayenne ranch sauce which added a bit of spice, as well as pomegranate seeds & mint which added freshness. Very moreish!

Crispy calamari[£5]

These had a light, crunchy batter & the calamari was nice and fresh. It was served with black sesame seeds and a wedge of lime for a citrusy kick.

Duck gyoza πŸ₯Ÿ [£5]

These were really nice. They had a slight crunch to them and we really liked the ginger & soy dressing.

Moving onto mains, both of us got some of their chicken options.

California chicken burger πŸ” [£11]

You could choose to have the patty grilled or breaded & we went for grilled which gave it a delicious charred flavour. The chicken itself was slightly spicy and cooked nicely. Topped with smashed avocado, lettuce, coriander, spring onion, chilli and mayo, the burger had lots of flavour and different textures. You can get a veggie version of this!

Chicken kebab πŸ— [£13]

This was really nicely presented and the chicken had a delicious chargrilled flavour to it, with a hint of rosemary. It was served with a Greek salad & halloumi which we really liked, as well as a warm & fluffy flatbread, hummus & pomegranate seeds.

Sticky chocolate brownie (v) 🍫 [£4.50]

This was a rich & indulgent brownie served with vanilla ice cream, however it had more of a sponge texture rather than a gooey one.

Salted caramel cheesecake with toffee sauce, pretzels & popcorn (v) ✨ [£4.50]

This was delicious! It had a beautiful fudge-like NY cheesecake texture to it and the base, which was thicker & softer than other cheesecakes, had a slightly nutty flavour to it.

We enjoyed this meal and we felt like it was quite good value for money, particularly when it came to the cocktails. Thanks for having us Giraffe!
